Ingredients

Scale

Chicken:

  • 2 lbs. organic chicken breasts
  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsps On Everything All-Purpose Blend
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Hot Honey Sauce:

  • 6 Tbsps unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup organic raw honey
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep and Season Chicken: In a large bowl, combine the cleaned and rinsed chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, On Everything All-Purpose Blend, and smoked paprika. Mix well to coat each piece thoroughly.
  2. Slash the Chicken: Place the seasoned chicken breasts on a cutting board and make small, 1-inch apart slit-like cuts on the surface of each breast to allow marinade penetration.
  3. Marinate (Optional but Recommended): Transfer chicken to a sealed ziplock bag and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or preferably overnight to enhance flavor. Remove from fridge and let sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before cooking.
  4. Make Hot Honey Sauce: Heat a medium 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Melt the butter then add minced garlic, sautéing for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in honey, cayenne pepper, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and salt. Cook until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened, then remove from heat.
  5. Bake the Chicken: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange chicken breasts side by side with space between them. Spoon half of the hot honey sauce evenly over each breast.
  6. Cook: Bake for 30-35 minutes until the chicken is golden brown, crispy on the outside, and cooked thoroughly inside (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).
  7. Serve: Remove chicken from the oven, let cool slightly, then spoon remaining hot honey sauce over the breasts. Serve with preferred sides such as salad, pasta, or rice.

Notes

  • Marinating overnight enhances flavor and tenderness significantly.
  • Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F for safe consumption.
  • The hot honey sauce can be adjusted for spiciness by varying the amount of cayenne and red pepper flakes.
  • Slitting the chicken breasts helps them absorb the marinade and cook evenly.
  • This recipe works well baked on a skillet or baking sheet; choose based on convenience.
