  • 6 Oreos, chopped

Instructions

  1. Divide the Cereal: Portion the 5 cups of Rice Chex cereal into two equal parts, placing 2 ½ cups in each of two medium-sized bowls.
  2. Prepare Oreo and Powdered Sugar Mixtures: Add the crushed Oreo powder to a large zip-top bag. In a separate large zip bag, add the powdered sugar.
  3. Melt Milk Chocolate: Place the milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on half power, stirring well every 30 seconds until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Coat Cereal with Milk Chocolate: Pour the melted milk chocolate over one bowl of Rice Chex cereal. Stir thoroughly to make sure every piece is coated with chocolate. Transfer this chocolate-cereal mixture into the zip bag containing the crushed Oreo crumbs. Seal and shake to evenly coat the cereal with the Oreo powder. Set aside.
  5. Melt White Chocolate: Place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and melt them using the same method as before, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  6. Coat Cereal with White Chocolate: Quickly pour the melted white chocolate over the second bowl of Rice Chex cereal and stir promptly to coat the cereal pieces well as white chocolate sets fast. Transfer this mixture into the zip bag filled with powdered sugar. Seal and toss to coat the cereal evenly with powdered sugar.
  7. Combine and Set: Pour the contents of both zip bags onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle the chopped Oreos over the combined muddy buddies. Toss gently to mix everything evenly. Allow the mixture to set and dry before serving.
