Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 6 broccoli florets
  • 150 grams minced chicken
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (mild cheddar or mozzarella recommended)
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Mash the Broccoli: Begin by steaming your broccoli florets in a steaming basket until tender, about 5-7 minutes. If you don’t have a steamer, boil the broccoli in water for around 4-5 minutes. Once cooked, transfer the broccoli to a large bowl and mash it with a fork until it reaches a roughly pureed texture, suitable for babies.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Add the minced chicken, panko bread crumbs, garlic powder, shredded cheese, and egg to the mashed broccoli. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined into a uniform mixture, which will act as the base for your nuggets.
  3. Shape the Nuggets: With wet hands to prevent sticking, take small portions of the mixture and shape them into approximately 12 evenly sized nugget forms. Place the shaped nuggets on a baking tray lined with baking paper to prepare for cooking.
  4. Pan Fry the Nuggets: Heat a small amount of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Lay the nuggets in the pan and cook each side until they turn deeply golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side, ensuring the chicken is fully cooked.
  5. Serve and Store: Serve the nuggets warm, either plain or with a baby-friendly dipping sauce. They pair well with fruits, vegetables, or other snacks. Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • Ensure the nuggets are cooked through thoroughly for baby safety.
  • You can substitute panko breadcrumbs with gluten-free alternatives if needed.
  • Use mild cheese to suit baby’s sensitive palate.
  • Adjust the garlic powder to very minimal amounts or omit if your baby is very young.
  • Always supervise your baby while eating nuggets to prevent choking hazards.
